How do i get my w2 forms when the payroll for the company I worked for is out of business?
The company I worked for is out of business and so is the payroll company they used. So what now? I went to irs and they told me to come back after February 15. I don' t have my last paycheck stub from that job. What can I do? I have previous years w2's from this job I have worked there about 5 years.

- Not keeping your paperwork is certainly going to be to your disadvantage. If you worked for this company in prior year, find that w-2 as it will provide the IRS with the companies tax ids. If you don't have that do you know any other former employees that would. Your former employer is responsible for submitting the taxes that they withheld from you. If they never submitted, and you have no paperwork, you will have no basis for a refund. But hey if you owe taxes maybe that will work to your advantage.
