What places in Boston are a necessity to visit when traveling there?

I am going to Boston this weekend and wanted to know what restauraunts and other places are the best in the town and possibly the country. I know I'm going to eat some New England clam chowder and visit Fenway Park. Any other tips?

  1. The Daily Catch is a good place to eat Clam Chowda, also take the freedom tour or the duck tours are cool too. The Boston Common is a neat place to visit.
  2. You should visit the North End and dine at an authentic Italian restaurant. My husband and I love Al Dente. I believe that it is on Hanover St. Avoid Mama Rosa's. Boston Common is a cool place to hang around. The clubs are on Lansdowne St and Boylston St. The Museum of Fine Arts is a cool place to visit.
  3. Feneuil hall, haymarket and north end.All near each other. The Aquarium,Legal sea food restaurant right across for a great clam chowder.Prudential tower for the best view in town and light dinner or drinks. Bostix kiosks for half price tickets to local shows. Welcome home, I hope you have fun!
  4. There are so many museums and historical places to visit while you are in Boston
  5. Although most natives will swear by the chowder at Legal Sea Foods or the No-name on the Fish Pier, the actual winner of "Best Chowder" at the Chowder taste-off competition the past two years has been that served by Turner Fisheries restaurant, in the Westin Hotel Back bay.
  6. The North End, Quincy Market, Back Bay, The South End, and Cambridge. Have fun.
  7. Don't forget Newbury Street! Stephanie's on Newbury has a wonderful Sunday brunch. Boston Common is also gorgeous anytime of year.
  8. Go a little north and visit Harvard Square. Even better, go more North and visit southern Maine's beaches and get your chowder and lobster up there. Maine is well know for its lobsters.
